30 May 2025

Do you know what DECOM consists of? The organizers of the DECOM Oil & Gas Discussion Forum decided to lift the veil and provide more details about its structure and key elements.

The DECOM Forum is a large-scale industry event combining several formats:

Each of these units plays an important role in creating a unique space for communication among oil and gas industry professionals.

Technological Forum Sessions are a key element of DECOM, which we will discuss today.

A Forum Session is an event focused on live professional interaction, exchange of experience and joint search for solutions on topical issues of the industry. The session owner is a separate organization: a subsoil user, a service company, a scientific and design institute, a university, or an agency.

Structure of a Forum Session:

One of the key elements of a Forum Session is an interview with an expert.

The session owner organizes this interview, and a representative of the organization acts as the expert. Members of the Organizing Committee and guests of the Forum participate in a live discussion of the topic with the expert. The duration of this interview is 25 minutes.

Another key element of the Forum Session is a presentation by a company representative with a Thematic Report and its subsequent discussion with all Forum participants in various formats: discussion, debate. The duration of the report is 45 minutes.

In addition, one of the Forum sessions covers several current topics at once and is held in a roundtable format.

Another important component of the Forum Session is a quiz — an interactive element that represents a technological puzzle based on unusual situations from the company's practice. Participants discuss the proposed task for 5 minutes, suggesting possible solutions.

Technological Forum Sessions are not just discussions and presentations, but a lively professional dialogue that promotes the generation of ideas, the exchange of experience and the strengthening of the industry community.
