DECOM-2024 Highlights

From September 2nd to 4th, 2024, Kazan hosted the Oil and Gas Discussion Forum DECOM-2024, which has become a traditional event in the oil industry.

This year, IT-Park named after Bashir Rameev became the venue for DECOM-2024, where experts and participants meetings took place over three days. The forum gathered over 660 people, including 180 in-person and 480 online participants, from 27 companies and 4 universities from various cities in Russia.

The program included a variety of formats: interviews, thematic reports, discussions, a round table, master classes, and technical presentations. The main topics of discussion covered issues of management, control, design, and development of oil and gas fields.

According to its concept, the Forum consisted of 9 technological Forum sessions, owned by organizations such as: Gazprom Neft Group, PJSC Tatneft, Polykod LLC, Sofoil LLC, and KFU. Invited experts included representatives from both Russian and foreign companies. Participants were even able to interview AI - ARAX bot.

Each day, representatives from different companies introduced new developments. At the Club sessions, they presented their technologies in the form of technical reports and master classes, and at exhibitions, they talked about their companies' products and services. In just three days, 55 reports and presentations were presented for a total duration of 28 hours.

As part of the forum, the PetroCup Championship was held on oil and gas field development management for oil and gas producing organizations, industry research and design institutes, and specialized higher education institutions. Out of 8 participants, the «Ordovik» (Gazprom Neft Group) and «Neogen» (PJSC Tatneft) teams took prizes, and the «Perm» team (PJSC Tatneft) won.

Also, an important event of the Forum was the opening of a special space to learn about the activities of Kazan Federal University - THE HOUSE OF KFU.

The following took place here:

• Presentation of a film about Nikolai Nikolaevich Neprimerov
• Presentation of video lectures by Gennady Vladimirovich Sonin about the Geological Museum
• Signing ceremony of an agreement on cooperation and partnership between Nafta College and KFU

The idea of creating «Houses of Organizations» will be developed at future Decom forums. This will allow each participant to have their own special corner wh ere they can meet with colleagues, former and current, and graduates of their alma mater in a cozy atmosphere.

The next Oil and Gas Forum DECOM-2025 is scheduled for September 8th to 10th, 2025 and will be held in the city of Samara.
